Artist Spotlights
-
Kim Ferreira
Kim Ferreira was raised in a log cabin in the woods and now lives in Portsmouth, NH, a lovely little city by the sea. Her work is inspired by simple pleasures and the exuberant enjoyment of life, what the French refer to as “joie de vivre”. These small-scale oil paintings feature an array of anthropomorphic woodland animals against a backdrop nodding to French rococo landscapes and celebrate the little things that bring her joy.

Elisabeth Ladwig
Elisabeth Ladwig is an award-winning photographic artist based in the New Jersey Highlands, where protected natural landscapes inspire her work. She explores modern surrealism through a blend of photography, graphic design, and collage. Inspired by an early fascination with the connection between science, nature, and magic, Elisabeth creates visual metaphors that reflect the wonder of the natural world.

Jemima Jameson
Jemima Jameson’s Shropshire home on the Welsh border provides a constant source of inspiration for her painting - the surrounding hills and the local wildlife providing endless subject matter. She works in acrylics on gesso panels and her detailed, illustrative style reflects her influence from the “Art & Craft Movement” and her love of Mediaeval illuminated manuscripts.
Our Story
Years ago, I discovered Masala Cards in a local gift shop and fell in love with the line. I would buy cards for others and decide to keep them all for myself, not wanting to part with the beautiful artwork! Fast forward to living in Asheville, NC, we were fortunate enough to meet the original founders, Deb Foster and Todd Smith over a cup of coffee. In January of 2025, they told us they planned to sell the company and retire. I knew without a doubt at that moment that I was interested in buying the company.
As a mixed-media artist myself (with my own greeting card line) I have a deep appreciation and respect for the art and artists of Masala. My husband, Jay, is the “spreadsheet side” of my business. His background is in business sales and marketing, making us a pretty good team of left and right brains!
Masala Cards comes from a belief that art belongs in everyday life, not just on gallery walls, but in the moments that people connect through a handwritten note delivered on a small piece of art.
