Artist Spotlights

Duy Huynh
View CardsAt the core of my work is a search for balance and continuity, usually between two or more mysteries. The characters I create often float (literally) somewhere between science and spirituality, memory and mythology, structure and spontaneity, ephemeral and eternal, humorous and profound, connectivity and non-attachment. The intent isn't necessarily to provide enlightenment, but to celebrate the quest itself.

Floy Zittin
View CardsI love observing and painting birds. Their distinct personalities remind me of people I know, and their interactions mirror my own experiences. Birds remind me of cycles of life and of my place in the natural world. Each of my paintings begins with an observation. I make jottings in a field notebook which becomes my main resource as I develop a painting in my studio. I hope my work brings new appreciation for the amazing avian world around us.

Lee Foster-Wilson
View CardsLee Foster-Wilson is a UK artist and illustrator based in Cornwall. She is often inspired by the rural, coastal landscape she lives in and grew up with a menagerie of animals and riding horses. Lee likes to work with limited colour palettes and traditional analogue materials. Her favourite tool of choice is the marker pen in all its different guises and it will probably have her heart forever.
Our Story
Years ago, I discovered Masala Cards in a local gift shop and fell in love with the line. I would buy cards for others and decide to keep them all for myself, not wanting to part with the beautiful artwork! Fast forward to living in Asheville, NC, we were fortunate enough to meet the original founders, Deb Foster and Todd Smith over a cup of coffee. In January of 2025, they told us they planned to sell the company and retire. I knew without a doubt at that moment that I was interested in buying the company.
As a mixed-media artist myself (with my own greeting card line) I have a deep appreciation and respect for the art and artists of Masala. My husband, Jay, is the “spreadsheet side” of my business. His background is in business sales and marketing, making us a pretty good team of left and right brains!
Masala Cards comes from a belief that art belongs in everyday life, not just on gallery walls, but in the moments that people connect through a handwritten note delivered on a small piece of art.
