The Wishing Tree

Elisabeth Ladwig is an award-winning photographic artist living in the Hudson Valley. Her work explores modern surrealism, comprising original photographs that are layered and blended for contiguous scenes. Elisabeth uses vintage props and costumes and may handcraft part of a setting when an image calls for it. The subjects' anonymity allows the viewer to take part in writing their stories. Elisabeth's work is fueled by a grade-school revelation that all of life’s mysteries fall within the parameters of scientific explanation, that science abides by the Laws of Nature, and that all of it is magical. So with a nod to Mother Nature and her fairytale existence, Elisabeth seeks equal beauty in the storm as in the sunrise.
